WebAvail Productions Releases Portal Software Package

GROVE, Ill. - April 07, 2001 -- After a year and a half of development
and testing, WebAvail Productions, http://www.webavail.com,
has unveiled Aleza Portal, a link indexing software package
that enables Webmasters to create customized Yahoo-like portal
sites. Designed for ease of use, Aleza Portal requires little
or no ASP experience and is fully customizable to a site's existing
look and feel.
Company
founder Arthur Puszynski, 21, developed the software while working
on an earlier site. "I wanted a portal site, but I didn't
know where to find one," he explains. "So I picked
up a book and did it myself." Eighteen months later, Puszynski
was ready to offer Aleza Portal to other
Webmasters.
The
software allows site owners to categorize links, or "resources,"
into hundreds of specific categories. Site visitors can then
personalize the resources they view, vote for and review resources,
and e-mail their favorite resources to friends.
A
unique feature of Aleza Portal is its link preview functionality,
which provides thumbnail previews of resources. "Rather
than opening a linked site in a new window, Aleza Portal gives
the Webmaster the option of creating a sort of resource gallery,"
Puszynski says. "It's an easy way for a design firm to
showcase a portfolio, for example."
Aleza
Portal supports most popular e-mail components and offers a
range of e-mail features, including e-mail list and template
managers, mass mailer functionality and a newsletter interface.
The software also includes threaded reviews, statistics and
advanced searching.
Aleza
Portal is uploaded to a user's server in a few minutes. System
requirements include ASP support (Windows NT or 2000) and an
e-mail component on the host machine.
